Known as the Galil by some, this Warzone gun has been hit with countless nerfs in its past iterations, and now it's back to dominate Verdansk once more with its high damage output and stopping power. Honestly, I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve been beamed from miles away by an enemy toting the AMAX.

Returning from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019, the CR-56 AMAX is now available to all Warzone players via the Black Ops 6 season 3 battle pass. Whether you purchase the premium battle pass or not, the CR-56 AMAX can be claimed for free after collecting all rewards on page six of the pass. The rifle will also be unlockable via a permanent challenge after the season ends.

The best CR-56 AMAX Warzone loadout for long range

The CR-56 AMAX has impressive stopping power, but its recoil pattern leaves a lot to be desired compared to other assault rifles within its class. This loadout minimizes the kick while retaining the weapon's strengths.

The equipped Smoke and Frag grenades will help you apply pressure from afar or cover your escape if you need to reposition, and they pair nicely with the listed perks to help you stay hidden and pick off foes from a safe distance.

This CR-56 AMAX loadout specializes in aggressive pushes, making you the pointman for your squad. Even in solo play, this AMAX build gives you some huge advantages in shootouts because of its high mobility and incredible stopping power.

The Compensator and Vertical Foregrip lessen the AMAX's powerful kick, making the weapon easier to control. With Recoil Springs equipped on top of that, the AMAX is buttery smooth at close range. Paired with the Gain-Twist Barrel to boost the gun's bullet velocity and the Heavy Stock to reduce the effects of flinching, you'll be able to stay on target even while receiving damage.

Since this is a close range build and the CR-56 AMAX already has some pretty nice iron sights, we've chosen to prioritize other attachments over an optic. If you need a scope on your gun, however, I recommend swapping out the Heavy Stock in favor of a sight like the Merlin Mini or Kepler Microflex.

The HDR sniper rifle in the secondary slot will cover any long range encounters you have in Verdansk, too, so the AMAX can focus solely on the close quarters gunfights it excels at. The trio of perks also maximizes this loadout's aggression with the ability to reload while tactical sprinting, see enemy footprints, mark enemies for your squad, and more. Concussion and Thermite grenades just make you even more of a threat in close quarters on top of everything else, too.
